Ultrasound Information

Abdominal ultrasonography is a non-invasive technique used to image organs within the abdomen and/or chest. The area to be imaged must be shaved in order to provide adequate imaging. Irritation may occur to the skin as a consequence. Hair regrowth generally takes multiple weeks but can be prolonged in certain pets.

Authorization for Sedation

The best images usually require the need for sedation. If indicated by our veterinarian sonographer, your pet may require sedation in order to perform the abdominal ultrasound. Sedation costs will be presented to you prior to your petā€™s ultrasound and generally range between $50 - $150 depending on your pet's size and degree of sedation required.

In the event that my pet requires sedation, do you authorize the administration of sedative medications?
